I've spent over four decades in technology — from engineering to the C-suite, and most of the last twenty five years as an entrepreneur and investor. I've held roles from team management to directorships, senior VP, and C-suite positions, and I've seen a wide spectrum of leadership styles up close.
My own style was shaped by the full range of it: failed ventures and successful equity events, personal tragedy and the joys of family and community. Through all of it, the quality of the journey came down to the people in my life.
For most of my career, helping in a real way meant a longer-term commitment. Stepping back has changed that. Now it can be a few hours here and there — a conversation when you're stuck, a second set of eyes on a hard decision, a steady sounding board for you or your team.
